Client Code of Conduct

In this document, “you” or “Client” means the person or persons who are our client. “We/us/our” means Thomson Broadbent Limited, trading as Thomson Broadbent – Chartered Surveyors, and its successors. “Director” means a Director of Thomson Broadbent Limited.

At Thomson Broadbent, we are committed to fostering a respectful and mutually beneficial relationship with our clients. We strive to build positive relationships and expect our clients to treat us with the same courtesy and respect that they themselves can expect to receive from us. This mutual respect is foundational to providing the best possible service and ensuring a productive collaboration.

The Client Code of Conduct is essential in maintaining a professional and respectful environment for both our clients and our staff. Its purpose is to clearly outline the expected behaviours and responsibilities, ensuring that interactions are conducted with courtesy and integrity. By adhering to this code, we can create a positive and effective working relationship, enabling us to deliver the highest standards of service.

Clients must:

  • Treat employees, directors, and representatives of the Company with respect and integrity.
  • Show respect and courtesy to employees and Company representatives.
  • Respond to queries and requests for information within a reasonable timeframe (typically 28 days).
  • Avoid discriminatory comments or actions related to sexism, racism, ableism, classism, homophobia, biphobia, transphobia, or any other derogatory behaviour.
  • Inform the Company of changes in circumstances or contact details.
  • Understand that due to regulatory or legal constraints, Thomson Broadbent has limitations on the services provided.
  • Recognise that specific employees or directors may not always be available immediately and appointments may be necessary.
  • Refrain from making demeaning personal comments about Thomson Broadbent’s staff.

An employee or director can refuse and suspend service to a client who violates the responsibilities or behaves threateningly. If both a manager and an employee agree that a client has seriously breached this Code of Conduct, the Company may cease to provide you with services immediately.
